Lady Generals to Play Western Wyoming Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

The Sheridan College Lady Generals Soccer team, who overcame a slow start in September to win three of their last five matches, will play in the NJCAA Region IX Quarterfinals this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Sheridan College.

The Lady Generals are led into battle by goalie Amanda Hill, a freshman from Ogden, Utah, whose goals-against average of 1.41 was third in the conference this season. They’ll be up against a Western Wyoming Community College team that led the conference in saves and save percentage this year.

“This match is going to be a tall order for our ladies, but I’m confident they can rise to the challenge,” said Head Coach Mallery Marshall, the first-year coach who previously led the Sheridan High School Lady Broncs to back-to-back state championship appearances. “Our last two matches showed we’re much-improved from earlier in the season. It’s going to be a great matchup.”

The winner of Saturday’s game will head to Westminster, Colorado for the Region IX Semifinals on Saturday, October 29.
