High School: Stensgaard is a 6'8", 190-pound forward from Stevens High School in Rapid City, SD. At Stevens, Tate averaged 13.8ppg and 6.8rpg, leading his team in both categories. His best game this past year came against Sturgis HS when Tate went off for 29 points and 14 rebounds. Stensgaard's honors include being selected second team all Greater Dakota Conference in 2011 as well as being selected to play in the 3rd Annual Northern Hills Senior All-Star Basketball Game. He was also named KOTA News' Athlete of the Week during the 2011 season.
