Sheridan – The Sheridan College Generals Men’s
Basketball team gained two wins on the road this weekend against
Rocky Mountain College 111-47 and Williston State College 101-89 at
Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.
The Generals 8-0 jumped on Rocky Mountain right
out of the gates and never looked back. The Generals took a 67-20
lead into the locker room as every player on the roster scored a
field goal. Leading the way for the Generals in scoring was freshman
Moustapha Diarra who scored 19 points. Freshman Mari Konate scored
17 points and pulled own nine rebounds during the game. Freshmen Tom
Parks and Dennis Williamson both scored 17 points during the
contest. Freshman Matt Kellogg scored 16 points and knocked down
three 3-point shots during the contest.
The Generals controlled the rebounding battle
out rebounding Rocky Mountain 46-19.
In a battle with Region XIII contender
Williston State College from Williston, North Dakota, the Generals
jumped out to a quick 20-10 lead. Williston State would battle back
to cut the lead to within just a few points on a number of
possessions throughout the game, but in the end the Generals were
just to strong as they won 101-89.
Sophomore Antoine Watson led the Generals in
scoring with 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for a
double-double. Parks and Moustapha both scored 17 points in the
contest. Kellogg continued his hot shooting from the night before
adding four 3-pointers and 16 points. Sophomore Cedric Koffi added
10 points in the game.
