Former Sheridan College General, Xavier Jackson is seeing his role grow early in the season with his new team, the VCU Rams. After seeing limited action in VCU's trip to the Maui Classic in Hawaii, Xavier has been inserted into the VCU starting lineup in their past two games, both of which resulted in a win for the Rams. In his first game as a starter, the former General finished with 4 points and 3 assists in his 17 minutes of action. The Rams went on to defeat Appalachian State 85-72.
In his second start, and VCU's most recent game, Xavier logged a season high 27 minutes where he pulled down 6 rebounds in their 82-75 victory over Old Dominion. The former General will have his work cut out for him this week, as VCU welcomes their former coach, Shaka Smart, and the 5-2 Texas Longhorns to town.
