The #16 ranked Sheridan College Generals had a big week! First, the Generals took care of the #7 team in the country, Casper College 97-87. Then they went on the road and beat Laramie County Community College 81-61. The two wins by the Generals put them on top of the Region IX North standings with a perfect 4-0 record.
The first win of the week came inside a packed Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome, where over 1,000 fans witnessed the Generals dominate the T-Birds in the first half and take a 45-30 lead into the locker room. Sheridan College again came out hot in the 2nd half and jumped to a 60-37 lead. That run would end though as Casper went on their own run...a 21-0 run to be precise. The Generals would allow Casper to get within a point before they settled down and regained control of the game. Even though Sheridan College had an extremely poor performance from the free throw line (12-27), they were able to close the game out and go away with a 97-87 victory. Camron Reece led the Generals with 26 points, and Ja'Vary Christmas provided a huge contribution off the bench chipping in with 25 points.
SC went on the road Saturday to LCCC where they found themselves tied at halftime 31-31. The Generals were able to pull away in the 2nd half, outscoring LCCC 48-28 in the final 20 minutes. Camron Reece again led the Generals, posting 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sasa Vuksanovic was a spark off the bench, coming in and contributing 17 points and 5 rebounds.
The Generals are at home this Wenesday as they host fellow NWCCD member, Gillette College. The women's game starts at 5:30 and the men's game will follow at 7:30pm.
