Tyler Hurley is entering his first season with the Generals. A native of Anaconda, Montana, Hurley played two years at The University of Montana under current Oregon State Head Coach Wayne Tinkle from 2007-2009. He finished his basketball career at Montana Western in Dillon, MT under Montana Hall of Fame coach Steve Keller. He helped his team to one conference championship and three consecutive NAIA National Tournaments.
Hurley comes to Sheridan College from New Mexico JC where he spent the past year and helped the T-Birds to a 21-10 record. Before his time at NMJC, Hurley was an assistant at Casper College for three years where the T-Birds went 71-28 during that time. Hurley has coached over 20 Division 1 players during his time at Casper and NMJC including Deante Strickland (Portland State) Region IX North Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-American, Wilfried Likayi (New Mexico State), Ryan Murphy (Pittsburgh), Antun Maricevic (South Florida), Josh McSwiggan (Portland), Octavion Corley (East Tennessee State),
Hurley holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Montana Western and also a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine.
