Coach Starr is entering his second season as Head coach for Sheridan College Generals. Coach Starr has a wide range of coaching experience at youth, collegiate, and the professional levels. Starr has worked with elite youth clubs across the nation, and served stints as an assistant coach at AC Connecticut in the Premier Development league.
Coach Starr hails from Denver, Colorado where he began his playing career in youth clubs. Starr went on to play collegiately at Colorado Christian University in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, a nationally recognized powerhouse for collegiate athletics. During Starr’s collegiate career he spent two summers playing in the USL Premier Development League, and was invited to the USL Pro Combine. Following graduation Starr took his talents abroad to Vienna, Austria where he played professionally for two seasons, studied coaching methodology in the WFV Elite Youth Academy for youth regional/national team players, and was director of youth outreach for InSoccer Outreach.
Starr is passionate about building the Sheridan College Men’s Soccer program to perform on the soccer field with excellence; and encourage diversity to form a brotherhood that impacts the lives of others. Starr’s philosophy is deeply rooted in mentoring men through soccer and developing athletes to reach the highest possible level after their time at Sheridan through guidance, emphasis on high quality technical and tactical training, and provide players with an opportunity to further excel in their craft at four year universities. Starr graduated with a Masters Degree in Soccer Coaching from Ohio University, holds a NSCAA Advanced National license, and is the Director of Coaching for Sheridan Storm Soccer Club.
