Over the weekend the Sheridan College women's basketball team traveled to Gillette, WY to face off against the Bruins of Salt Lake Community College and the Badgers of Snow College.
The Bruins, who are currently ranked 5th in the NJCAA national polls, got off to a strong start in Friday's game and never looked back as they defeated the Generals 87-43. Sophomore guard, Raelynn Keefer (Forsyth, MT), led the Generals in scoring with 16 pts, while sophomore forward, Ashleigh Frampton (Bundaburg, Australia) contributed 10 pts and 5 rebounds. Kassie Hoyer, a freshman forward from Belt, MT, led the team in rebounds snagging 6 boards.
In Saturday's match-up the Generals fell to the Badgers 69-43. After a slow first half of scoring with only 16 pts in the first 20 minutes, Sheridan came out strong in the third quarter but their efforts would not be enough to overcome the first half deficit. Lily Jex (Spanish Fork, UT) and Raelynn Keefer were the only two Generals to score double digits with 10 pts a piece. Both Madisan Chavez (Hardin, MT) and Kassie Hoyer had 5 rebounds.
The Generals are now 1-3 on the year but will be home this weekend for the first time this season! On Friday, November 17 they will face Bismarck State and on Saturday, November 18 they will match-up against Western Nebraska. Both games are slated for 5:00 PM at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.
