The Sheridan College women's basketball team traveled to Williston, ND and Glendive, MT over the weekend to compete against three different opponents. On Friday, December 8, they defeated the Tetons of Williston State College 63-46. Then on Saturday, December 9, they fell to the North Dakota All-Stars 62-54. Finally on Sunday, December 10, they were defeated by the Buccaneers of Dawson Community College in overtime 73-66.
Sophomores Ashleigh Frampton (Bundaberg, Australia) and Raelynn Keefer (Forsyth, MT) both had solid weekends. Frampton averaged 12 points and 8.3 rebounds throughout the three competitions while Keefer contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds per game. Freshman Aloma Solovi (Salt Lake City, UT) also had a breakout game during Friday's match-up against Williston, scoring 13 points.
During Sunday's game against Dawson the Generals came very close to winning in regulation but the Buccaneers made a lay-up with less than 10 seconds to send the game into overtime. In overtime the Buccaneers pulled away outscoring the Generals 13-6. Despite the loss, the Sheridan College had a very balanced scoring effort with four Generals scoring in double figures. Frampton led all scorers with 14 pts, Keefer contributed 11 pts, and freshman Lily Jex (Spanish Forks, UT) and Kassie Hoyer (Belt, MT) had 11 and 10 pts respectively. Freshman Noora Parttimaa had a season high 10 rebounds for the generals, including 6 on the offensive glass.
The Lady Generals are back home this weekend for two games. The first on Friday, December 15th at 5:00 pm against Little Big Horn College and the second on Saturday, December 16th at 5:30 pm against the Wyoming All-Star team.
