This past Saturday night, January 27, the T-Birds of Casper College, who currently sit at #22 in NCJAA Division 1 national rankings, defeated the Sheridan College women's basketball team 79-46.

It was the third game of the week for the lady Generals and after keeping things close in the first half, they lost steam in the second half as the T-Birds caught fire from the 3 point line. Casper who took an 8 point lead into the locker room at half-time, came out in the third quarter and went 5 for 6 from behind the arc quickly extending their lead to 20 points.

Although Sheridan made efforts to battle back, fatigue was apparent as they went cold from the field shooting a mere 16.7% in the second half, which included a 1 for 9 effort from the 3 point line. The Generals also struggled to rebound in the second half, grabbing only 10 boards to the T-birds 32.

Freshman guard Aloma Solovi (Salt Lake City, UT) had a strong game for the Generals with 15 points. She was one of the few Generals to shoot well going 4 for 9 from the field, 1 for 1 from the 3, and 6 for 8 from the free-throw line.  She was followed by sophomore guards Raelynn Keefer (Forsyth, MT) and Brooke Cargal (Gillette, WY) who chipped in 9 points apiece. Freshmen Kassie Hoyer (Belt, MT) and Lily Jex (Spanish Fork, UT) each had 6 rebounds to lead the team.

The Generals are now 3-3 in conference play and 10-12 overall. This week they will be on the road for both their conference match-ups. On Wednesday, Jan 31, they will travel to Powell, WY to take on Northwest Community College and on Saturday, Feb 3, they head to Riverton, WY to play against the Rustlers of Central Wyoming.
