The winningest coach in program history, Mallery Hammer enters her third season as the head soccer coach at Sheridan College after leading the Generals to a second place conference finish and Region IX Championship debut in 2017. Hammer is the only head coach to lead the Generals to back-to-back NJCAA Region IX tournament appearances and was the 2017 Region IX Coach of the Year.
The Generals enter the 2018 season coming off a banner year having lost only two conference games all season and advancing to the 2017 Region IX Championship.
During her tenure, Hammer has reinvented the program with a foundation of strong recruiting, bringing some of the top talent from Wyoming and neighboring states to Sheridan. Not only has Hammer built Sheridan into a force on the field, she has created an identity for the entire program - one that the Sheridan community has embraced. Under Hammer the program has had:
- 10 Region IX Academic Honor Recipients
- 8 NJCAA Academic All-Americans
- 7 NJCAA Region IX First Team Selections
When not coaching, Hammer serves as a coordinator for the educational grant program GEAR-UP.
Hammer played her college soccer career at Louisiana State University and graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming. Hammer resides in Sheridan with her husband Matt, and their four children, Michal-Tate, Meadow, Abram and Eli.
