In today's news, the Sheridan and Gillette rivalry continues after a postponed game scheduled for Wednesday the 12th. After the roads cleared, the Pronghorn teams were on their way to battle the home Generals and Lady Generals teams in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.
Lady Generals vs Lady Pronghorns game commenced at 5:30 and started with an early lead favoring the Pronghorns. The second quarter was closer in score with the Lady Generals trailing by 5. The Lady Generals fought hard in the first half but walked into the locker room at halftime down by 13. Returning tough in the third quarter, the Generals outscored the opponent 20-15 going into the fourth. The fourth quarter was taken by the Pronghorns after an exciting battle on the court. The final score was recorded at 60-75 in favor of Gillette College. Scoring leaders for the Lady Generals included the reliable Madi Roush with 30 points and 4 assists from Haley McDermott of Thermopolis, WY.
The Generals took the court following the ladies at 7:30 PM. The tension was high at the tip-off as the Generals attained the first possession of the game. The Generals played with a spark through the first half but were down at halftime 29-41. Returning after halftime the men came out hot and scored a total of 43 in the second half of the game. In a heated battle the Generals eventually fell to the Pronghorns 72-92 in the Dome. The scoring column was dominated by JoVon McClanahan with 40 and Marcus Stephens with 18 points on the game. The Generals moved on to a 6-5 record for Region 9 North.
